My best friend's family had pet nutria a couple different times growing up. They would sit in your lap and eat cut potatoes. Interesting little animals

I have friends who had baby raccoons as pets. As babies they were cute and docile; however, when they became adults they needed to be released for personal safety purposes. I would think the same would be true for nutria rats.
