Does the new 2016 Honda Pilot look too much like a mini van?

Looking at getting the old ball and chain a new SUV and the Pilot Touring comes with a lot of features for $40k. However, we are trying to figure out if the new body style looks too much like an mini van. No pics of wife but here's the car…

Doesn't have a sliding side door. Not a minivan.

The newer Pilot's have always looked kind of large. Aren't they built around a car platform? They look closer to a crossover type vehicle than an SUV.

ETA: No, it does not.

That's a damn shame.

The Honda Pilot was one of the few crossovers that still looked like an SUV but now it looks like every other crossover "SUV" that is built on a car chassis.

I agree. I could scoop up a new 2015 Pilot Touring for really cheap but the advancements in technology between the 2015 and 2016 is pretty huge. Probably not worth the $5-$7k I would save considering she will probably be driving it for about 8 years.

Looks a lot like a Toyota Highlander:

I prefer the older Honda Pilots because it looks more like an American SUV:

I'm gonna have to look into that. Toyota should hold up better than Honda but both are pretty good. Not sure how the highlander compares as far as interior, would like to have a TV in the back.

The only difference between a Crossover and a minivan. Most "SUV's" now fall into this category.
