I am doing a bulk cycle while still doing IF. The main benefit of IF is the increased HGH production

I'm at 218 and would like to be 200-205. 30 days is my goal.

I meant it matters about how much body fat you're holding on to, not just body weight. If you are IF, you are specifically targeting burning fat. Don't necessarily look at your body weight as the end goal. Look at how lean you are at the end of 30 days and how your clothes are fitting.

More than two decades ago, I heard a wise man named Early Grayce give his thoughts on how the importance of breakfast was created by mega corporations just looking to make money (i.e. cereal, pop tarts, etc.). He probably doesn't get proper recognition for being one of the earliest IF proponents.

Another strong belief of Early's is that cold weather makes people stupid. This prompted him to move to California but drama with his wife and friends cut short his ambitions.

See this is where the IF worshipers lose me. When people start getting into the biochemisty benefits I call bullshite. Studies that show increases or decreases in this or that never mention effective/altering levels. I can take $5 worth of OTC supplements and raise my test levels but it isn't going to do shite for my training or physique.

IF works due to caloric restriction. It is not optimal if you're trying to pack on size. There is nothing you can eat or supplement with that increases NATURAL HGH production to the point that you start seeing an effect. You need to inject synthetic hgh to elevate your levels to an effective amount.

If you're "bulking", limiting the window in which you consume calories is a handicap.

Can you explain this a little more to me? You allowed yourself 4 hours a day in which to eat? Same 4 hours everyday?

Not happening in 30 days. I went from 205 to 155 in 9 months. That's about 5 and a half pounds a month and I was on a pretty aggressive cut with extremely limited cheat days.

Do you even lean gains bruh? Seriously its all about calorie and macro count. Go read the lean gains site. In fact the 16/8 LG system was created to gain weight while minimizing fat gain.

Thanks, I read the article along with a couple of others that followed in later posts. Good information.

My earlier post was a somewhat obscure movie reference that I tend to think of whenever the IF topic comes up.

My question about IF is, what if you get really hungry in the morning and get a little weak or headache from not eating? 12 is a long time to wait to eat if you wake up at 5. Thanks a lot of good info in here.

I started both intermediate fasting and low carb 10 days ago. Typically I am hungry when I usually eat breakfast but after an hour or two it passes. It's never been difficult for me to skip breakfast. My scale has gone from 241 to 233 so it's working. This is the first time I've added IF to low carb, in the past I've done just low carb with good results but I expect this will be quicker.

One should not use tools given to us by the Lord for secular means.

Just as one should not use tools by false gods as a means to get closer to their Spirit and thus, the Lord. (Yoga)

Coffee. It's a must on IF, caffine curbs your appetite.

You could also just shift your window earlier, don't eat after 7 instead of 8. It's not about the time of day, it's just maintaining that window.

Correct. Several action stars have said they used it for lean bulking for roles, including The Rock, Hugh Jackman for wolverine and most recently Benedict Cumberbatch for dr strange.

Are you just eating two meals during this window? My daily routine changes so I workout at 5AM two days per week and around 11:30AM the other three days. Any suggestions on times to eat and how many meals you eat during the window? I'm thinking an 8 hour eating window. I understand that macros and calories must be tracked. I'm mainly wondering how many meals your eating in your window while bulking. TIA
