Does anyone have a dog that competes in shows?

So I got really stoned back in December and decided to watch a dog show where it was Border Collies and Aussie Shepherds running through a obstacle course. I decided to buy an Aussie and have been training him pretty much since I got him in December. He is 5 months old today and can do 30 plus tricks and knows a ton of words. How much more training should I do before I enter him into shows? I assume they have to be a certain age?

AKC ( American Kennel Club)has to be from a registered bloodline.

We do cat shows but haven't dipped into the dog world yet. We feel like its too competitive and we dont want to stress out our little companions.

My secretary has dogs that compete. She has training about three times a week and has a course set up at her home.

I'm pretty sure this is false. They only have to be from a registered bloodline if they're competing in the "show" but if they're doing agility type shows then they are perfectly fine being a mutt and not have a lineage.
