Think I have maybe 2 friends I can enjoy talking to on the phone if I don't have a specific question I need answered. But that's not an every week thing, it's less frequent as we get older.

I rarely talk on the phone. My mom is in Michigan until May, and it was her birthday on Thursday, so I called her and ended up on the phone for 30 min. I was at work, and while it was inconvenient, I knew one day I wouldn't be able to call her on her birthday.
Other than that, if there's no point to a phone call, I end it quickly. I always answer, though.

Not this woman. I hate the phone and have it only because i need it for emergencies and so people can reach me when needed. I can go days without talking on the phone. My friends have learned not to call me with BS and drama because i don't give a crap about that stuff.
For those who are always looking for a good way to get off the phone, here is the best one I have thought of.
I would go to my front door, ring the doorbell so the other person on the phone can hear it and then say " Oh, well someone is at the door so let me go see what they want". Works like a charm

What I can't stand is someone texting me continuously for 20 minutes about something that could be cleared up by a 2 minute phone call.

I love talking on the phone.
But anyone that knows me knows that in general I just talk. A. LOT. So not shocking that would transfer to phone conversations.
My husband HATES talking on the phone. I had to learn this fact quickly when we first started dating and not to take it personally.

What I do is, in the middle of the conversation I will suddenly say "Hey! Hold on one second. Pause then say "Hey Im going to talk to you later" then hang up.. As if something happened.

I try not to miss phone calls.

I do. My mom is in her 60's now and while that may not be old in today's standards you still never know.

I trained my mom to only call me once a week as soon as I started college.

Checking a voicemail is worse than any phone conversation ever. I hate that shite.
Honestly, if I'm not paying attention, I just tell the people I'm not paying attention. They either get pissed and end the conversation, or change the subject. I'm much more tolerant of long conversations on speakerphone though

I don't really care for talking on the phone and I hate voicemail. I let my voice mail inbox fill up several years ago to where people can't leave me voicemail. Text me if you need something and get the point across.

To certain people yes. That is limited to my mom, sis, and like two others though.

I'm 52 and hate, a conversation of over a minute is like nails on a chalkboard, the only exception is calling my mother in her assisted living home and setting aside as much time as she wants to talk, i dont know if i exactly cherish it but it gives me a good feeling how much it seems she enjoys it
