War is a terrible thing and glorifying it isn't a good idea.

They're a private company and can do what they want. Feel free to exercise your right to use another search engine like Lycos or AskJeeves. That'll show them!

Remembrance and respect =/= glorifying it

Google is a left wing company in a left wing area.

They will have a special page for Cesar Chavez's birthday and other left wing icons, but military or veterans? No way

Today isn't about war, though. It's about those who lost their lives. I separate the soldier from the conflict.

Well, that's why we live in America. The difference of opinion is encouraged.

Other than having vetnethq.com, googleforveterans.com, etc, I guess Google doesn't do enough.

Perhaps they felt that actions speak louder than pictures, or perhaps they believe that Memorial Day is about quiet reflection rather than ostentatious nationalism.

you got to admit it is kind of odd. google is decorated almost everyday for many extremely random and unheard of events. not doing anything for memorial day seems to be much more than an omission

This may be the first time those sentences have ever been spoken/typed in the history of the internet.

Why are all of you here posting on the internet instead of at a cemetery laying flowers?

Why aren't we complaining about memorial day sales? that seems to cheapen the day more than not having a cute little logo.

I know this is intended as a joke but seriously what do you think the meaning behind it is?

You damn well its not accident.

Hope it's just stupidity and over site.

If it is a statement, the statement is inexcusable. I hope they catch some shite for it.
