One can get a NASTY eye infection if you leave daily's in too long.

I haven't got anything close to an eye infection regarding leaving my contacts in too long. I try not too, but once I start to forget (after putting in a new pair), I usually just go with them for months on end. I've even used the same pair for many months, just taking them out occasionally.

I'm thinking the eye infections come from when people's fingers aren't complete sanitized and the every day putting them in and taking them out is just increasing their odds of getting infection. Although I don't know too many people who have gotten eye infections from contacts in the first place.

Also, if you think cotton mouth is bad, cotton eye is even worse.

That sounds nasty.

I fell asleep with my contacts in for a nap(like 2 hours). Went to take them out when I woke up....scratched my cornea in the process. You wanna know pain...do that. Had to go to eye doctor and get antibiotic drops to put in my eyes for a week.

Never again.

I first thought I read sunglasses and was confused by all the answers.

That tells you I need to use glasses for reading but I rarely do.

Nope. Had Lasik surgery prior to gas permeable hard contacts. Didn't like the soft ones.

Wore glasses since I was 10 about 48 years. Got the Lasiks done 2 years ago and wonder why I never done it sooner.

It takes a few days to get into them. You'll panic feeling like you screwed up the prescription until you get adjusted.

Just got me some. I can't get used to them. How long to your eyes get adjusted to them.

Are Varilux lenses the way to go?

I wear glasses ... for about 50 years as of this writing.

Current glasses are titanium frames with plastic scratch resistant transitions lenses.

I do the same thing. I've had one eye infection and the pain from it only lasted for about 7 hours or so (it was pretty terrible), but I haven't learned my lesson. I still keep my contacts in for months at a time.

I've gotten quite a few eye infections over the last 10 years of wearing contacts. I'm pretty clean as far as taking care of them, but it happens about once a year or so.

-4.75 in one eye, -4.25 in the other.

Would like to get Lasik one day.

fact is, if you live long enough, eventually you will have to get glasses...

I'd love to see the research that backs up this Fact

Me. Took me a few days to get used to them. When I first got them, I could barely walk out of lenscrafter. I had to call someone to drive me home
