No, never even crossed my mind. It's fast food you eat in your car.

Thanks, I think I am and would normally be considered an insanely generous tipper; a Stupidly generous tipper.

I have to be honest though and say that it really just never crossed my mind. Of course, I've probably eaten there maybe 3 times in 5 years. I have zero issue with tipping them and likely will now.

It just doesn't seem real tip friendly. I'd be worried about a buck flying away or being thrown away.

OK, I agree that tipping is OOC . It looks like the no tippers are equating Sonic w/ typical fast food. I don't tip at Mcdonalds, either. The difference at Sonic is that someone brings me my food, akin to a waiter, IMO..

Thus, I tip.

I admit I am WAYYYYY too generous when I tip.

Wife and kids eat there. Even though I don't eat it, I still buy it. The family doesn't exactly share my love for quinoa or tempeh.

You're cheap, sport.

You get to sit in your 1997 F-150 listening to WWL (hoping your battery dosen't go dead, again) and someone brings you your foot-long and you can't come a $1?

OK, then.

I'll tip any kid trying to make a buck at sonic. I respect that they actually go outside and interact with people. If they are on roller skates I'll give another dollar or two. Roller skating in 2015 is worth the extra tip to me.

No one has answered the question, "if you tip at sonic, do you also tip at McD, Wendy's, CFA, etc?"

I see no difference, I am very confused.

No. It's Sonic's job to pay their employees. That's why they don't pay them $3 or whatever it is that a waiter makes

As a matter of fact, you and the other know-it-alls who have mentioned this, Sonic does not pay carhops minimum wage. My son was recently hired there and they get $4 an hour. They greatly depend on tips to make the job worthwhile.

It all depends on looks. If it's a pretty chick then you tip... if it's one of those haggard old ladies or some guy then no tip.

I usually give the kid a buck, but yesteday after they totally screwed up my order I didn't. They weren't busy at the time but seemed to be having fun dancing around in there. Had to send it back when they brought the burger dressed when order said plain and they only brought 1 of the 2 coney's and no drinks.....after she repeated the order correctly when it was placed.

At the others nobody has to come out to my vehicle to deliver the meal.

When I worked there, I believe I made $5 and some change per hour. I thought that was minimum wage at the time, but maybe it wasn't. This was 2006.
