The jacket needs customizing to his build. Really important to make it his.

Carefully take it off and like others said, get it tailored. It will make him look sharp!

Yes. There should be a stitch to remove to separate the tails.

You forgot that the bottom button on the jacket doesn't need to be buttoned.

Shirt seems OK. Jacket looks a bit big and shapeless. I would remove the tag, fwiw, but I am OCD about symmetry.

Good luck on the suit, don't worry too much about it. He'll be out of it fast (literally at homecoming ) and because he'll outgrow it soon.

He'll be fine.
