I think about it all the time.
Go get some help. Call a psychiatrist. Make weekly, if not twice a week, appointments. Walk into an ER if you need to.

I've been there. Spent a year going to a psychiatrist. Best thing I ever did. Not ashamed about it either. No one should be.

I assume he was listening to Last Resort? I wonder how many adolescents have killed themselves to that song.

I don't know what the specifics are, obviously, but generally speaking this kind of attitude only serves to show that a person has no fricking clue as to what they're talking about.

Very true.

I know enough to know that people are selfish and shouldn't leave their responsibilities to their families.

Probably so, I didn't care to ask. I just know on the CD he had wrote "Set the Pain Free"

I don't really consider it but sometimes when you work so hard and things seem as though they will never get better I sometimes wonder if driving as fast as I can into the concrete median is worth it. However, I always look around and see innocent people and think, dang don't take them out too. Then I forget about what I was having a hard time with.

That's like saying a cancer patient who dies from his disease is guilty for abandoning his family. Have you ever heard of breaking points? Do you know in polls that surveyed patients who suffered both from cancer and depression almost without fail the patients would rather deal with cancer than depression?

Did you know that depression can be so neurologically damaging that neuroscientists have found that people who suffer from severe depression often show the same type of brain activity and degradation as is witnessed when using fMRIs to study combat veterans suffering from severe PTSD?

I cannot understand how people fail to recognize the difference between clinical depression and other forms of mental illness vs. a case of the "blues" or being sad.

Seriously, if you want to spout off an opinion like that you might want to do some actual research first.

I see a psychiatrist and am in counseling. I've dealt with this since I was 11, but I appreciate the concern.

I've known 2 people who committed suicide and one who attempted it.

Unfortunately the answer is yes. My uncle hung himself over my son's grave about 4 years ago.

Yep. They thought about it and then they did it

Four people I know did, three did it with a bullet to the head. One OD'd on their medication.

because those people haven't been truly depressed.

this is one of those things you have to experience to understand. you can't just read about depression and understand it.

that's why a lot of top psychiatrists and psychologists are fricked up themselves.

Because most people are know-it-all, judgmental a-holes. They won't change until they're personally affected.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been suffering since 11yrs old but I'm glad to see you're still here and managing it.

Yes. I knew 2 and they did it. It would have happened sooner or later for them. It was sooner. Sad sad scenarios.

Exactly. It's not a physical ailment that you can see and they've never actually been anything close to depressed in their own lives. Lucky them.
