I know enough to know that people are selfish and shouldn't leave their responsibilities to their families.
That's like saying a cancer patient who dies from his disease is guilty for abandoning his family. Have you ever heard of breaking points? Do you know in polls that surveyed patients who suffered both from cancer and depression almost without fail the patients would rather deal with cancer than depression?
Did you know that depression can be so neurologically damaging that neuroscientists have found that people who suffer from severe depression often show the same type of brain activity and degradation as is witnessed when using fMRIs to study combat veterans suffering from severe PTSD?
I cannot understand how people fail to recognize the difference between clinical depression and other forms of mental illness vs. a case of the "blues" or being sad.
Seriously, if you want to spout off an opinion like that you might want to do some actual research first.
