I do not. Used to think the whole process must be so nerve wracking, until I realized most of my friends' gf had literally picked out the ring they wanted, and had been giving them shite for not manning up and proposing for a couple months.

Feel like this is solid advice.

Some guy proposed at the red Sox game and was told no on the jumbo screen. Lol

I'd don't know what I'd do for certain, but I'd absolutely despise a public proposal. Restaurant, sporting event, theme park, in front of friends, etc... no no no. That's private, IMO.

Went to LSU with a girl who was dating a very rich guy.
He took her to NY and flew her around on a private chopper tour at night, and asked her to marry him
She said no
Her dad was married 3 times and her mom 4 times
She didn't ever want to get married

No...but close.

I had been dating and eventually living with a girl from the time I was a senior in high school until 5 years later. We had talked about marriage for many years, and the final Christmas she even started asking about a ring...so I bought one. Gave it to her that Christmas, she said yes, made a huge deal about it, families were all happy, etc.

Three weeks later she came back to our apartment for lunch and told me she was in love with someone else, and said it was over. A guy she worked with and I knew and liked. They had spent tons of time together and I never questioned it, and had apparently started something at thew work Christmas party I attended with her.

Even with all that, she STILL asked for the ring and accepted after I gave her what she had asked for AFTER she had cheated on me with this guy.

And...because she waited over 30n days to give me the fricking ring back, William S Nacol in Lafayette REFUSED to take it back as a full price return...so I hope nearly every day that guy gets dick cancer. Not testicular cancer...I mean his fricking shaft.

As it turns out, it worked out better for both of us in the end. She actually married the guy, had two girls and the youngest just graduated high school. Best part, she got VERY fat...so there's that bullet dodged.

And I met a girl who was tons better, both in terms of being beautiful and still is (frick off) but is simply a much better person and we've been married for 21.

But having an engagement ring handed back to you sucks a ton...I'm pretty sure I'd have preferred to be turned down. At least I'd have been able to return the god damned ring...

Men Proposing is a weak move. Getting down on your knee and giving a woman an expensive ring and asking her if she wants half your money. If you have any self respect you wouldn't propose and would just tell her " if you want to get married we can go down to the courthouse"
