No, we have Community coffee for free over here. That doesn't stop a horde of idiots from wasting $8 on Starbucks before they come to work though.
On my list of things I just do not understand.

if you're spending $8 at starbucks on a drink you must be gay or a teenage girl.

Papermill North of BR cut their CC contract about a year ago. 24/7 facility and have to buy/bring own coffee. Total dick move

Coffee helps productivity. Honestly, its a good investment for employers to give it for free to employees.

And completely stupid to charge for it. That is pretty outrageous.

Yes, but I can wear anything I feel like, work whatever hours I want, and get to my office in no time at all.

We have very expensive coffee machines on each floor that will make lattes, cappuccino, hot chocolate and any other kind of hot beverage you can think of, for free. We also have free bottled water, flavored water and various soft drinks, all free in big glass door refrigerators on every floor. I work in the money making end of the company, so they supply all this. All the other divisions just get your basic pot of coffee and a sink with cups for water. Lol

Not a Flava machine. These things cost 25k each. They're pretty impressive.

dude, it wasn't my statement-I don't know what it costs. I just don't understand buying Starbucks(in general) then arriving at work where there is free coffee.

At my last job, there was a dude that would drink like an entire pot each day. They made him buy coffee from time to time, but everyone in that company had known each other for 20+ years bouncing around the industry. Nobody else paid for coffee.

He'd also snag leftovers from conferences, client meetings, and big presentations. I was happy about that

Pay for coffee.....at work?

I've been working since the late 60's and I have never heard of such a thing. If the superiors are that cheap to charge employees for coffee, I can only imagine how big of a pain it is for employees to get more important things like: promotions, bonuses, time off, vacation, sick time, maternity leave, etc...
