All of the gay guys I'm friends with are small government types. It makes sense.
Exactly. Government legislating one's life choices with respect to marriage/family about the most un-"conservative" idea imaginable.

Isn't it LGBTQA now? I think that I've seen that somewhere. I don't know what it means.

You forgot the Q. It's now LGBTQ. Wait another month and they'll add another group to this protected class.
So, reading up on that link, the Q is meant to encompass all of LGBT...isn't that what LGBT does?
So by saying LGBTQ, you're basically saying LGBTLGBT. Lovely.

Can someone explain the difference between gay/lesbian and queer? I'm at a loss
Posted on 6/16/16 at 12:36 pm to TigerWise
The ones I've spoken with aren't. Also, they're not too happy with the B either.

Q doesn't stand for queer, it stands for questioning, as in people who are a bit undecided because the urges had only recently been noticed.

I take comfort in knowing that within the next 5 years they'll be at war with each other over who is the most oppressed group.

I just learned there is now an A and an I at the end.

What about gay men who don't like lesbians?

Damn, I was joking when I said what another month..
LGBTQIA. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and asexual.

Speaking as someone who does not have a sexuality-based mental illness, no they do not.

I wonder what they are going to do when they add Gray-A under this umbrella. The G and the A are already taken.

This is sooo confusing for us straight people.

Yes, these are the halcyon days when they're all, "Gooble gobble, one of us, one of us."

Opposition to completely changing the definition of an institution that has existed for 1000s of years is, by definition, conservatism.
Not wanting government to interfere with ones individual personal liberty is, by definition, libertarianism.

How do the LGBs of the OT feel ?
I equate this sort of thing to lumping Christians, Jews, and Muslims together. I mean, they're all non-polytheists, so that means they should share the same agendas too, right?
Or perhaps, grouping Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, etc., would be more appropriate because they are the minority in a predominantly monotheistic world.
Sure, they might all subscribe to the idea of a single deity (in the case of the Abrahamic religions) or multiple deities (as is the case for the latter group of religious follower), just like the LGBTQ community pertains to those whore are not heterosexuals or accepting of their anatomical biology.
However, there are still some very significant distinctions between each group. And it seems like it would be cumbersome for homosexuals, who are concerned with sexual orientation, to band together with transexuals, who are concerned more with "gender" identity.

If the GOP would quit butting into people's personal lives and actually support personal freedom they'd get all the gay votes

Ironically, that's the problem most straight people have with the gays

add the letter "W" for weirdos, since they all fall in that category
Posted on 6/16/16 at 1:23 pm to The Cow Goes Moo Moo
Everyone needs to leave each other alone. The gays won't trust the GOP as long as the religious right is a big component. For example my church, which I always considered moderate (it's Methodist), had speech by a "former" gay guy who was healed through prayer and now is trying to convince himself and us that he's straight. The congregation is vastly GOP.
