Not mine. And I would guess most don't. The only time we kneel is when we take communion.

Do all protestant churches lack this feature? If so, why?

Not sure but I've only seen it at Catholic services.

It's a trade off. We don't have to do the kneeling or the memorizing, but we have to actually go to church.

I've heard it is based on historical issues--namely the Protestants didn't have money so they cut that feature out for budgetary reasons and it has stuck ever since.

Everyone I've been to in SC with my parents back in the day had them.

It's a Latin mass thing from catholics...

The Latin Norm. In the Latin Rite adoration of Christ in the Eucharist calls for either kneeling or genuflection. In the Liturgy the people are obliged to kneel for the Consecration and the main celebrant to genuflect (both after Consecrating each element and before receiving Holy Communion)

Pentecostals and some Assembly of God will. They will fall out and quiver if they feel like it. My MIL had us go to church with her at an Assembly of God church in Alaska and they were speaking in tongues and chicks were going up and down the aisles waving flags/ribbons. A few people were getting "hands laid on them" up front and shaking. It was creepy.

My pastor (Southern Baptist) usually asks us to kneel and pray with him prior to his sermon. He's said on several occasions that we are never as tall in the Lord's eyes as when we are on our knees. Our deacons also kneel during the invitation and pray for people who need Christ to come forward.

Well I go to possibly the biggest Lutheran church in Baton Rouge and we don't kneel. I've been to a couple of other Lutheran churches and they didn't kneel. And I went to the national youth gathering and there was never any kneeling. I grew up in the Lutheran Church and never saw any kneelers in the pews. But there are different kinds of Lutherans. There is Evangelical Lutherans and Missouri Synod Lutherans. Maybe it's the Evangelical Lutherans that kneel.
