I had occasion to visit a protestant Church recently and it struck me as odd that it did not have kneelers in the pews.

Do all protestant churches lack this feature? If so, why?

because they don't have mass

I remember the first time I went to a Catholic church I thought it was really cool how y'all had built in foot rests...

No kneelers. Always seems weird when I go to Catholic weddings and funerals.

Do they discourage kneeling before God?

No, we don't discourage kneeling before God. We typically save the kneeling for the end whenever they're wanting people to come down and join the church or inform the preacher you wanna be baptized. People will go up to the altar to kneel and pray.

No. We know it's bad for the knees.
