Do cashiers at grocery stores need a liquor license in order to ring you up

Yes.

Now they need two: A state license and a city license.

No just have to be 18 or older. Just the establishment has to have the license.

At Target today and picked up some wine. The 40+ year old cashier had to grab someone else to scan the liquor.

Every cashier I go through rings me up no prob. Except the younger ones they aren't old enough to "serve".

I don't believe you. I worked at a marina when I was 18 and was able to sell alcohol yet didn't have a license. It is definitely the establishment that needs a license.

Could be state mandated, but in Louisiana, you need a license to ring up the liquor.

Like I said, it happened today at Target.

Where the hell else would you buy liquor? Are you one of those alkies that buys the little bottle at the gas station because you know if you get a big bottle you'll drink it all in one sitting

In LA any cashier over 18 can check out booze.

Most states don't allow you to buy liquor in a grocery store.

Correct. Parish bar card and a Responsible Vendors permit (state class)
