for liquor? I've often wondered.

Yes.
Now they need two: A state license and a city license.

No just have to be 18 or older. Just the establishment has to have the license.

I've never bought liquor at a grocery store.

At Target today and picked up some wine. The 40+ year old cashier had to grab someone else to scan the liquor.

Every cashier I go through rings me up no prob. Except the younger ones they aren't old enough to "serve".

Wrong.
I don't believe you. I worked at a marina when I was 18 and was able to sell alcohol yet didn't have a license. It is definitely the establishment that needs a license.

Ok, so we're split on if cashiers need a license

Could be state mandated, but in Louisiana, you need a license to ring up the liquor.
Like I said, it happened today at Target.

Most states don't allow you to buy liquor in a grocery store.
