It's nearing time for me to make our meal reservations. So I'm gonna need to know which parks we'll be at on which days. We don't have the park hopper, as we have a 4 year old and a 2 year old going and park hopping wouldn't be worth the trouble. Are the parks that much more crowded on days with extra hours? If so, I'd rather avoid them. Chances are we won't be pushing closing time anyway due to the little ones. But if they're not that much more crowded, it may be worth going and having a couple of hours during the afternoon for nap time.

We always followed this rule and it worked. Avoid parks with EMH, be at the gates 30 minutes before they open and take an afternoon break. Before they messed with the Fastpass system, we never waited more than 20 minutes for any ride even during Christmas week. That isn't as easy any more with the new system.

I assume you mean the additional late magic hours and early hours ? If so those hours are only available to the guest residing at a Disney resort. Its pretty much hit or miss on crowds, morning is less packed when school is in session. Is this a summer trip ?

Every guide/agent/Disney employee/ has always said to avoid the parks with extra magic hours. For some reason people flock to those parks.

these are the key phrases in your post. Neither of them will remember this trip. You may as well leave them at home with grandma and go on a trip you'll enjoy.

Well, tickets are cheap for a 4 and 2 yr old and meals are cheaper as well. Later when they're 10 and 8 and are begging to go back, you can say, "we've already gone and all you did was scream and shite yourself. Now shut up and get in the car. We're going to Branson, you'll love Yakov Smirnov."

Still wouldn't bring my kid if I didn't think they would remember the trip.....

My buddy's family had the right idea.....if you are old enough to walk by yourself the whole time.....then you are old enough to go.

However, I don't think people are stupid if they bring their younger kids.....to each their own....I just won't be doing it.

We are going in June.......with 2 5 year olds. I've already resigned myself to the idea that it's probably gonna suck for me...... oh well.... as long as the girls enjoy it I suppose it will be worth it.

So your kid won't go to a parade or camp in the mountains or go to the zoo until he/she is 12 or 13? WTF?

Because Disney can't be enjoyed with a 2 and 4 year old?

I do and no way I'd subject them to Disney at that age.

I thought the same thing heading into my first time with a 1 and 3 year old. Turns out, I had a great time and so did my kids. Strolling around Epcot every night pushing a stroller and a drink in hand helps out.

Your argument makes no sense.....those things don't cost nearly as much.

.....the first memories you have are from when you're 12?? Sorry bro.

You'd have some pretty weird kids then if a 2 and 4 year old wouldn't be in total amazement the entire time they're there. It's not for everyone, I get that, but it is for every kid.

We went with 3 kids under 5. The 2 oldest kids remember everything.

We noticed that if we took an afternoon nap, and went back and hour after the EMA kicked in, the parks were nearly empty. Most kids crashed and went back to the hotel by the time we arrived

I wasn't aware that Disney could be enjoyed as a 30 year old grown man, but I guess I'm crazy.
