I have managed to break the latch keeper on my dishwasher, which is about to cause major problems here with a newborn and the constant demand for washing bottles.

Can I purchase this part locally or do I need a professional?

You can always hand wash bottles until you get it fixed

Google model number. Find parts diagram. Order online. UPS delivers to your door.

OT answer. No. The whole dishwasher is built around that latch. Take it out, and its ruined.

We've got a 6 week old and we've yet to run any bottles through dishwasher. We clean them in sink and use one of those bottle sterilizers you put in microwave

It's usually easy to change and you can get the part locally. Whats the model #?

It is a Frigidaire PLD2850RDC2.

I have googled the part and located it, but would love to purchase it locally and install it myself tomorrow if st all possible.

I knew you had your ears on.

I don't really know of anyone that would carry that in stock.

May try some of the repair shops and see of they have a broken unit they can take it from.

It's easy to change. you are just going to pull your machine out a few inches and remove the screws holding the part in.

I don't know what is "local" for you. Ideal in Slidell doesn't have it. But Appliance Parts Depot in Metairie has five in stock. Looks like $21.93 is the list price on it.

If BR is closer you can check there. I know most North Shore techs buy their parts in Metairie.

Part number is 154429101

I'd be surprised if anyone carried that in stock unless its the same on all Frig models. I'd hand wash bottles for a couple days and order the part tonight, it will be here by the weekend.

It's a high fail part. I have latches for five different makes including this one on my Van right now.

It's available in Metairie at both Appliance Parts Depot and First Source Serve All (but the latter wants $10 more)

I went by this morning and picked up the part from a fella named Sterling. Real nice fella. The part was $21.97 out the door and the dishwasher is now washing dishes again.

Thanks again Napoleon.
