I’m 63 years old and that has never happened in our family.

My mother in law is currently not too thrilled that I agreed with her 17 year old son that knowing the right people is more important than a high GPA in getting great job opportunities.

Merry Christmas

Edit: The kid is a low key genius (34 ACT) and normal in social settings. He’ll be fine. The mother is an overbearing Karen that I like to call out from time to time.

Someone tells the eldest grandchild they don’t need a kid at 22 without quality job. Boom!

I became privvy to quite a comical and near fatal incident that happened to one of our fellow posters yesterday at a family Xmas gathering. I wish I was at liberty to share the details and the pics

Same here.

I'm pretty sure have a high percentage of White trash drunks in here, and that is why there are the "argument threads".

Plenty of very comical/awkward/cringey moments but never argument type stuff.

That is true but you don’t usually get to “know the right people” by fricking off and being a slacker.

My family: we do not communicate well. For example three people may bring mashed potatoes for Christmas dinner, but absolutely no drama.
My wife’s family are the most turmoil filled people I’ve ever seen.
My wife has lost her shite twice already today.

This is why we don’t host people and we stay home before the big day. Tomorrow we will show up, exchange gifts, eat some lunch, chit chat a bit and roll the frick out. I’ll be home and inside my woman before sundown.

We got some people that have a kid with hand foot mouth. They aren't coming but wanted to send presents. Someone else is threatening not to come if the presents show up.

These are the inlaws.

But if you let the kid think that he'll be sporting a 2.2 GPA and counting on his BIL to vouch for him with the boss man.

Face it, most of us aren't connected enough to skate through life.
