Diagnosed with diabetes but wait a minute

Screwed up story to tell. Dear Diary,
Just saw a new doctor. I go in and get blood work done, etc. Nurse calls me and says the doctor has diagnosed me with diabetes. Was a little confused so she proceeds to tell me that the doctor verified it by looking at my three month a1c results. Kicker is that I haven't had an a1c test in the past three months.
I'm thinking I get a new doctor.

a1c is an average of your BG levels over the last three months

I'm not sure if you're trolling or genuinely don't understand how that test works. Hemoglobin A1c is affected by your average blood sugar over the past three months. Once it reaches somewhere around 7%, you have diabetes.

You should probably "think" less and look up "A1c" to get a clue about what the nurse was telling you.

I don't think you understand how an A1C test works. 
They can run it from your bloodwork and it tells them how your blood sugar has been over the last 3 months. They do not need to take blood multiple times over that 3 month period.
So congrats on the diabetes.
