I hope so as well and I hope... If they try to call the police, they don't show up.

Nah, they should show up. BUT, each cop that does show should have a letter of consent to enter the premises at the ready. None should step foot inside the restaurant until all the letters are signed by the owner.

And since they had to have an interpreter for the interview, the misunderstanding part makes sense?

You can choose to believe what you want though. I don't care.
They must get a lot of orders wrong if their English is THAT bad.

Why? Isn't queer a perfectly fine word to describe a gay person? I don't think it bothers them one bit..

I have friends who say this is ok because being a police officer isn't protected. But they are all about businesses having to serve people who are protected. This is hypocrisy.

I'm tired of the "we hate the police so we're fine with them being banned" but "we support people who are gay so we're not fine with a business not serving them." Pick a side. Be fair and be honest. Just saying "there's no law" doesn't really address the issue.

The Sheriff is a better person. If I was sheriff, I would say fine but we're not answering any calls there.

I'm sure that is probably some type of civil rights violation or law violation.

Why do they call themselves gay, most seem to be pissed about something all the time? Gay and queer were very useful words until their meaning was hi-jacked by the homosexual community.

Looks like the Yelp reviewers have helped this guy get the rating he deserves

Yep, good. I read a few of the reviews and people specifically talked about the same thing this thread is about. People from there, who have eaten there have the same mindset as the OT about Luckys... good. Hopefully that place shuts down.

I'll assume you are also fine with the IRS being used to target conservative organizations because their agenda does not match that of the POTUS's? Literally the same tactic

Except this isn't political at all. Asking police not to come to a restaurant is not political, but having the IRS target conservatives is political. Not really the same tactic or even the same thing at all.

Well I was going to say lets go destroy them on yelp, but it looks like that's already happened.

On May 18, 2010, Red and Black collective member John Langley asked armed police Officer James Crooker to leave the cafe, telling him that he violated the "safer space" policies of the collective.[8] Various local and national media sources covered the incident including the Portland Mercury, The Oregonian, and CNN.[9] The situation prompted a boycott of the cafe and the creation of Facebook pages both for the boycott, and in support of the collective with "Boycott the Red and Black Cafe, Portland, OR" and "I'm not Boycotting the Red and Black Cafe, Portland OR". Subsequently, a press conference was held to address concerns over the decision to ask the officer to leave the premises.[10]

Following the controversy, the collective received both verbal and written threats of arson and other violence, but business also increased for the cafe.[11]

The cafe was in local news in 2014 when John Langley called 911, for a man who appeared to be having a heroin overdose, and asked the emergency dispatcher explicitly not to send the police. Langley said if they were to arrive they were not to be allowed inside the cafe.[12]

Students push for queer studies concentration

By Rakhi Agrawal

Although the world’s first student queer advocacy group was founded at Columbia in 1967, the University doesn’t offer an LGBT studies program for undergraduates. Three Columbia College students are looking to change that.

Will Hughes, CC ’13 and vice president of policy for the Columbia College Student Council, started crafting a proposal for a queer studies program over the summer. He plans to submit the proposal to the Committee on Instruction, which holds approval power over all classes and academic programs in Columbia College and the School of General Studies.

President Gavin McGown, CC ’13, and Columbia Queer Alliance President Marita Inglehart, CC ’14, have been working with Hughes on the proposal. Their goal is to establish a concentration in queer studies, with Hughes noting that there are already “a number of classes that touch on queer theory.”

I disagree with the language you use but you have a point.

Disagree with the language? English? you disagree with the English language? That's an inanimate thing and it'd be like disagreeing with your desk.

These are interesting times.

A business owner can ask that Law enforcement not patronize his restaurant but, the same business owner cannot refuse to make a wedding cake for a gay couple.

WTF is wrong with this country?

On a personal note, I hope his restaurant burns to the ground.

Everyone knows that LEO's don't pay when eating in uniform. They still tip though

Really? Why hasn't anyone told me this for the last 21 years? I must have been at the range practicing my dog shooting skills when this tidbit was passed along.
