I posted this on the Tech Board but obviously it will get a lot more action here...

Is it dangerous to have my router under the crib where my kid sleeps? Tough to get an answer trying to look online, just wondering if anyone here has any idea on the matter?

If it is bad how would I go about moving it?

Must be your first kid to have this fear.

It's not actually but the first time the router would be under the crib.

It isn't like this router is putting out some organ cooking RF. Your phone probably has more RF energy than the router.

What are your other options for this router?

He must not have been able to get it under the foundation.

Unless the kid winds a wire around his/her neck there is zero danger.

That said, having the router under the crib will probably hurt its performance.

There are a lot of "scientists" who are saying it is. How legitimate of scientists they are I don't know.

Yes. Think of it as a cell tower. The Higher it is in the air the further the connections travels. It's like a dome. Under a crib or any obstacles such as walls or doors greatly reduces the signal strength.

Now I know you are lost. You came to the OT looking for someone to refute a "scientist."

Your best bet is to go off the grid and eliminate electrical devices from your home. Or put a copper cobweb over the crib to protect the baby from stray electromagnetic waves.

Well that's why I'm asking.

I can find dozens of articles from science and technology publications that say it is unequivocally bad for you and only random message board posters saying otherwise.

Do you have any evidence supporting your claim or do you just want to be a smartass?

What was your goal asking on a message board?

I can find tons of publications about testicular/prostate cancer and carry cell phones in your pockets.

i'm a infrastructure/server engineer and i would birth my kid on top of a server or switch without thinking twice man. stop reading dumb shite on the internet, your kid is fine.

eta: i mean think about. nowadays. your kid isn't going to be more than 10 feet away from an electronic device their entire life.
