free cruise? Ask what the cash price is for the ring. Probably lower the cost more than the cruise.

We went last year for 7 days on Norwegian Cruise Lines and loved it. Very few kids and the ship was clean , food was great , and alcohol was expensive. Probably my favorite vacation I've taken. Though that's partly due to us only driving 30 minutes from home to the ship and then the same ride when cruise was over. Much better than trying to drive 10-15 hours somewhere , looking for hotel rooms , paying for meals (deciding on where to get meals) , etc. It was awesome. Drive 30 minutes , get on ship , vacation for 7 days while being treated like a king , drive 30 minutes home.

Would NOT do Carnival. I researched all of them extensively and didn't see anything good being said about Carnival

Norwegian has a Hawaii cruise that's good. The travel board may be your best bet.

How much are you going to end up spending in this "free" cruise?

Look at Celebrity. It's a nicer line that doesn't have a lot of families. It's geared more toward late 20s to late 40s couples.

Stay off the Walmart of the Seas aka Carnival.

What about 5-7 nights from these lines?

Have been on a 7 night from Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean was better and that shouldn't be a surprise but Carnival wasn't as bad as some make it out to be.

Royal Carribbean out of Miami is by far the best option. There are some really nice ships there with great destinations. Get a balcony room or upgrade to a Junior suite if you can afford it. It is worth the money. Try to book a room on a higher deck, toward the bow of the ship. You will have a great experience.

The reason is that you will be closer to the amenities such as the pool deck, Gym, Spa and Theatre. Since you are toward the bow, it will seem a lot less crowded that in the middle or stern of the ship.

Cruises are not trashy. Just take a quality cruise and stay from the trash who normally cruise on bad cruise lines. You get what you pay for.

I've only done 7 and always had a good time. Due to my work, I have to see the people that take the shorter cruises on a regular basis though, so that (and stories from people I know) is what I base the trashiness of the shorter cruises on.

you sound like you don't know what you are talking about. You must work for the media.

I have done all 3 lines. All 3 are enjoyable. I would definitely recommend going on a 7 night. The shorter itineraries are not very good. I would also recommend Miami, as you can get on a bigger ship there.

For Royal- I would do Navigator.

For NCL- Getaway or Escape.

For Carnival- Vista.

Don't listen to people who say this cruise line is trashy, or anything like that. Chances are high they have never even been on that line. All 3 are the mass-market cruise lines and have more similarities than differences. Where you really see the differences is in the size and age of the ship.
