Crucial job decision to make tomorrow *update page 5

O-T Lounge,
I could truly use some thoughtful opinions tonight. I'm at a crossroads in my career after my organization hired a new leader a year ago. Philosophically, we are polarizingly different. This has led to some tense moments regarding how we conduct our business, obviously. Despite that, because I am a significant asset and have done remarkable work he has kept me on board while cutting loose several other employees. I'm able to stear clear of him most days and continue doing my work the way I see fit. But I sense that this is not the place where I'm thriving and growing the way I need to because of the leadership. this is a stable job in an area of Texas that I truly LOVE. I am paid well and just received a raise. Its not an awful place despite the issues. Just tough daily in a soul draining kind of way.
The decision is fhis: I am being HEAVILY recruited by a similar organization in Colorado Springs, Co. I know nothing about Colorado. I pretty much hate cold weather but love the scenery up there. It's nearly a $10,000 pay cut as well. But it is the type of job I would thrive at. It is led by the type of people you dream of working for. It is truly a special place.
They would like my answer by morning. I don't know what to do. Stay comfortably miserable? Or say frick it and go for broke?
Married with 2 kids under 3 years old. No debt other than a couple student loans.

ETA2: I've flipped back and forth on this decision. Tomorrow I'm going to try to negotiate a bit with the other organization to help us financially. If we can't come to an agreement I believe I'll be sticking around until something else arises. My head and my heart are still so torn on the issue. I wish there was an easier answer!

Does the other job have potential to move up and make more than what you're making now? Plus moving is pretty expensive, so there's that. Will the wife be able to fund a new job as well?

If you like where you live then I'd stay there unless you think you may get fired or something. Colorado Springs is a great area, though so I don't know if you can go wrong. Housing costs may be an issue depending on which end of the pay scale you are on.

I actually read all of that. If I were in your shoes I'd carry my arse to Colorado my friend, kids are young enough to start over and you'd be happier with more opportunities. Good luck

My philosophy is that staying comfortably miserable is the worst way to live, and tons of people do it. It's just fear of the unknown. But what you do know, you don't like your current job, sounds awful. Take a chance, what's the worst that can happen? You don't like this job either? Well it's not a life sentence, if you made a move like that and didn't like it, I can't imagine the company blaming you for leaving and moving back home.
Take chances, usually when you follow your heart and put yourself out there rather than stay stagnant and unhappy simply because you've become comfortable in the lifestyle, you don't regret it.

You should go to Colorado. It's a great place! So many things to do there.
You shouldn't work at a job that makes you tired to come in each day. Every day should be a fun, new, and inspiring day at your work.
All that being said, you should work on writing skills more.

Incredible. I am dealing with an almost identical situation. My current company loves me, but I am not happy. Mediocre product and some extreme d-bags. New company is a very exciting, new company with a lot of intangibles that I love. Current company owes me some money and said that they will sweeten the pot (considerably) to keep me.
I am leaning toward taking the new job. I don't like the current job. I didn't when I accepted this new job. The current job threw a few extra $$ at me, but I still don't like the job. You will thrive if you are happy.
