Crescent City Classic thread

Who's running? Who's walking? Where you partying after, or before? What's your goal(s)?

I am still on the fence. I'm registered, but battling a hip problem that hasn't been completely diagnosed yet (kinda long story).

I have always had some issue with this race and never been able to get top 500, but this year decided to not run Rock N Roll Marathon to be healthy for CCC (alot of good that did me).

My initial goal was go to sub 43:00, then changed to sub 43:30 when the hip problem arose, but now since I haven't run in over a week and haven't run over 5 miles in two weeks, not sure what I can do.

re: Crescent City Classic thread
how bad is the rain supposed to be?

I'm signed up but I really don't care enought to run in a storm

ETA: I haven't trained much at all, so I'm just going for anything under 55min

party after...don't know; guess just booze in the park

Is anyone dressing up in costume? Any ideas?

Sounds like you should just do it for fun and not worry about a time. When your hip hurts back off and just take in the fun atmosphere of the day. I'm doing it with my wife and daughters. I like to run and when I run a half marathon its all serious buisness but I just take the CCC as a fun time.

I'm running it. I have a pinched nerve (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) that I'm having worked on the next few days.

It's been bothering me for months.

I'm running it. It'll be my 2nd 10k. My first one was 53:00. I'd be happy with anything under an hour. I mainly run for the cardio. I'm 5'9'' and 190 so I'm a little on the slow side. I just enjoy the race experience.

My wife and I will stay in a hotel Friday night and she will sleep in during race. I'm not really a partier, and I'm not sure when I'll get from city park back downtown.

Running

Hoping for around 45min - 60 min (depends on how much i push myself)

I always go to Liuzza's off of Bienville after the race but I heard it closed down

Starte training for top 500, a bunch if shite came up and it went to the back burner. Going for glory, will probably crash and burn.

I love the picture in the paper this morning. Dude in a bunny suit crossing the finish line with a beer bottle in his hand.

My wife and I are running with a bunch of our friends. This will be my first "official" run of any type. I'm just hoping to finish!

re: Crescent City Classic thread
Heading down tomorrow. I think I sound like everyone else when I say I have not trained at all for this one so anything sub 75 min at this point would be decent at best.

Wife and I will be poking around in the quarter all day Friday, after race hope to grab a beer and catch Papa Grows Funk for a bit. Wife has family in for Easter so back to the Northshore sometime Saturday afternoon.

Wishing all the TD folks well, hope we have a rain free run.

Where did you hear that? I don't think that's accurate.
