I think I'm to the point that I just overthink my wedge shots and screw most of them up after I pick from my 52,56, or 60. I'm thinking of just getting a 56/10 S grind from Calloway and learning how to make shots with it. I do have an approach wedge in my iron set too. Thoughts?

cut it back to 2. I would prefer just the 56 and the 60.

56 because it hit it 100 yards exactly so it comes in pretty handy from that range and also for chips that need a bit more loft than my PW.

60 for sand shots and the occasional flop shot.

I play with two wedges now. The 58 for sand shots and a 56 for basically everything around the green.

I chose down and hit punch shots with the 58, 56, PW, and 9i inside of 115 yards.

Occasionally I'll pull the 58 out around the green, but for as little as I practice, it is tough to have distance control around the green with more than one wedge.

I only carry a 56 degree wedge in my bag to go along with a 58 degree pitching wedge. I can open the blade enough on my 56 for flop/sand shots and I'm comfortable with the 56, and the distances I can hit it, for the shorter non full swing shots inside 100. If you want to go that route, I would just suggest you get REALLY comfortable with your 56 and know how far you can hit it with a full, three quarter, half and quarter swing. Once you get those distances down, you shouldn't ever have an issue...if that's the route you chose to go.

I play with a PW, AW, and 60.

Probably should work in a 56, but I've spent so much time working on distance control on these that I'd hate to start over. Also I'm trying to KISS and use my 9i around the green more

I have a Gap Wedge that is a 52. Also have a 58. Those are the only two i carry. I have a 54 that I used to keep, but never used so I took it out of my bag.

I have a 52, 56, 60, and 64. I almost always end up using my pitching wedge instead.

Btw, last week I played golf for the first time since my shoulder surgery 3 years ago.

Double bogeyed the first, then rattled off 4 straight pars while barely missing several birdie puts. Only played 8 before it got dark, but I would have shot somewhere around a 84. Which I haven't shot since college over a decade ago. I didn't even hit the driving range to practice first.

I'm not really sure how I got better by not playing for that long. Maybe its because I didn't try to kill the ball on my drives, and no longer get my hands out of sync from the rest of my swing? Guess trying to protect my shoulder made me better.

I very rarely use my 60. I could get rid of it and it wouldn't effect my average score much. I don't use it for the loft but more for the different sole grind and bounce. Medium bounce wedge for me doesn't work as a one size fits all wedge alternative. I want a high bounce and low bounce options. I don't use low bounce very option much but it's nice to have when I need it. 90% of my wedge works is done with the high bounce 56 wedge.

I carry only one when walking because of that one yard in the neighborhood that has the aggressive pit bull/lab/Rottweiler/border collie mix....... And it is usually the pitching wedge.

I broke my old 56 and ended up only playing the PW for everything. Bought a new 56 but I still feel like I can do anything within 130 yards with the PW so I rarely take the 56 out of the bag.

IMO a flop shot is something very golfer under a 10 handicap needs to be able to hit.

Esp of you're playing somewhere with elevated greens.
60 or 64 can accomp this.

I carry a lob, 56, gap and pitching wedge in my bag.

I recently went to 2 wedges 52 and 56. I feel like I can get the ball as high as I will need to with the 56. I mainly use my 52 as another iron unless I need to keep a shot low and spinny. It really depends on how big of a gap you have between pw and 56. I'd rather hit a full club as much as possible.

How many times are you hitting approach shots with wedges? i always like to hit full shots so I carry at least two plus a pitching wedge.

When gambling, I first look to see if my opponent has a 60 degree in the bag. If he does and is not a PGA Tour member, European Tour member, AJGA top 25 or a current D1 college player, I will win money...never fails.

What two clubs would you add to your bag after you throw out the 52 and 60? Over half of your shots in a round come from inside 100 yards. Having properly gapped wedges is way more valuable than adding a 5 wood or some hybrid (let alone both) that you might use 2-3 times per round.
