Cox sucks so bad, but it is familiar. Expensive but familiar.

Has anyone switched to either DirectTv or Uverse?

Thoughts? Advice?

I find myself watching less and less TV and more and more NetFlix and HBO lately, but I gotta have blazing fast internet so I can log on and see what you guys are talking about.

Help

U-verse doesn't seem outrageous until after a few months when they absolutely skull frick you on the bill. It's really bullshite how expensive cable and internet is and yet I still pay for it.

Switched to DirecTV a while back. Very happy compared to Cox. Still have them for Internet but ready to jump from them too given the opportunity.

Cox sucks.

Cox internet and DirectTV at my house. Pretty happy with it. When the TV goes out, I either download something with the cable box because it's on wifi, or watch DVR

Went from Cox to U Verse. In 3 years only 1 issue with Internet, always had issues with Cox. TV is much better other than no CST for LSU Baseball. You can always change up your TV package to whatever deal they are running. Cheaper than Cox IMO with premium channels.

Now that AT&T owns DirecTV, they are quietly moving away from plugging their own UVerse and encouraging signing up for satellite DirecTV.

Same, but it rarely goes out, contrary to many opinions

Had them all. Uverse has been the lesser of evils so far I guess. Now that att owns DirecTV you could get uverse internet and DirecTV cable and bundle I believe. I moved and didn't want another dish installed so I opted for a uverse bundle. I never really had an issue with DirecTV though.

I despise all aspects of cox. Get used to something else if familiarity is the issue.

Hold out for a 24 month price lock next time. That's what I did when I moved. I previously had a 24 month agreement with only a 12 month price lock. That does suck.

I've got upper 90s on all of my channels and I made the installer sandwich the mount in the attic through a 3/4" 2ft x 16in plywood plate i made for both sides. No trees in the way, but still goes out sometimes. Not much else they can do. That's only on HD though. SD always works.

My dad's has only gone out twice in 8 years.

I still think it's the best setup. Fast internet and good TV. Menu on DirectTV is better than any other provider. Bitch at one, and they lower my price.
