Is Cox the trashiest cable/internet provider in the country?
I signed a PRICE LOCK GUARANTEE in July 2014. My August bill had a 28% increase. Called and was told by 2 different Cox reps that PRICE LOCK GUARANTEE does not mean the price will not go up! WTF!!! How dumb are the idiots at Cox that tell blatant lies to customers all day long?
Short story: F Cox. I am going with DirectTV for tv services and ATT probably for internet. Cox can EAD!
ETA: 2 yr PRICE LOCK GUAURANTEE

hope you are talking about Uverse for internet, b/c DSL sucks arse. Sucks so much you'll switch back to Cox for internet. I hate Cox as much as anyone, but they are the only viable option for internet unfortunately.

Given for either 1 or 2 years. In your case, one. If you call and cancel they will put you back on your original price lock to keep you.

A lot of the packages have a 12 month price and then an increase price from months 13-24 before they really go deep once the contract ends.
Sounds like you didn't pay attention when you signed up.

Sorry G, but those price locks end after a year.
All you need to do is call and threaten to cut the cord and they will offer the same price.
I do that yearly dance with them and have done it for about 7 years.

All OP has to do is contact Cox and negotiate a deal for another year at his same price, they'll do it. What you have to do is call the month before the contract ends and they'll give you same deal for another year. I have done this every year.

Yeah, they're awful, but sadly none of the other are any better and I already have all their shite in my house so for some reason I stick it out.

Good catch. I edited. I had a 2 yr price lock. The lady even confirmed my 2 yrs was in place until 7/16, yet said PRICE LOCK GUARANTEE does not guarantee the price doesnt go up.
