Cats are smarter than dogs, by a long shot. Dogs listen better than cats, by a long shot. Don't mistaken loyalty and willingness to work with you as being smarter.
the average cougar weighs about 140lb, up to 200lbs, and is 7' long. It's going to frick up just about anything it wants in the U.S. outside of bears. Bears, jaguars and the gray wolf are the only predators they will yield to, and the wolf is in a pack. a lone wolf would get kilt quick, but the cat isn't stupid enough to fight a wolf b/c it knows it has friends.
