Just saw this
quote:

Costa will repair or replace, at our option, any product determined by Costa to be a manufacturer's defect. Since eventual wear and tear can be expected, reasonable repair charges will be levied if repairs are necessary as a result of normal wear, scratched lenses, broken hinges, accidental damage, misuse or any other problems determined not to be defects. A small processing fee will be charged for each warranty claim processed.

Seems like they would consider this to be accidental damage even though I did nothing to cause it.

Will it be a free repair?

Probably not, but I wouldn't expect it to be much more than $40 to $60.

They are great. I broke a lens on a pair I didn't wear often and let them sit in a pocket in the truck. I finally sent it in years later and they changed both lenses out. (they said the found delamination or discoloring, I didn't complain. No I wear those hammerheads all the time wen driving.

They always do this, at least with glass lenses.

Good idea. I have a tiny knick right in front of my left eye. Gonna complain about the UV not working, or something weird.
They'll never even notice the little knick.

Check the box for $49, send em in. IF its a warranty claim, they just wont charge you. They charged my card $10 when the nose guard fell off my Man O' Wars.

Just bought a pair of Rx...was going to lose money on my HSA , love em.

They used to only charge like $15, but the last time one of my ear pieces broke they charged me like $90 because they said they had discontinued my model.

Maybe they just noticed I've had like 6 warranty claims in the 10 years I've had the same pair of glasses and decided it was time for me to pony up.

Yes they will. I sent mine in last fall bc I had snapped the frame in half on one side. After the received them, they emailed me with the details. They said it would cost $11 for the frames. However they noticed that there were also a couple nicks in my right lens. And that they would fix that for $89 if I wanted. I said no thanks. And they mailed the same glasses back to me just with a fixed frame.

They'll pit your lenses in another frame for cheap. The frames are cheap, the money is in the glass.

It's tiny. They never notice.
I've never made a claim. I bought some shitty non polarized man of wars because the rubber on the arms wore off of my old ones, and I swapped them out. They owe me big time.

Maui Jim told me on a repair that if they have to replace one lens, they replace the other was well, so that they are identical. Costa may have a similar approach.
