dont get robbed,

i just had 5 removed,
2 water oaks (30-40 years old)
2 pine trees
1 pecan

everything stump grinded. i paid 2,900 for all of it.
green leaf was more than double that for only three trees, not including the pines.
we are off of west bayou and the guy came from opel.

Can you elaborate on this? I have a tree in my yard that I would like to remove, but I can't because it's hemmed in with power lines and I think it would be really costly to remove myself.

It would have to be on their right of way. At least the only time I've seen it.

I had seven trees removed a couple months ago, and paid $7000 total.

You're dumb for letting that happen if true but more than likely the "crackhead" was an employee. An arborists license is something those guys don't play around with by subbing their work out to unlicensed crews and there are strict state laws against that sort of thing.

It was right after Gustav, so I guess enforcement wasn't a priority. I had quotes varying from $800 to $4000 for the same tree.

I was quoted 15K to remove an 175+ year old live oak in Baton Rouge
