I was thinking of adding another bedroom to the house. My wife is mad that I turned our guest room to a man cave and she doesn't have her own room to go to with kids running around. So I was thinking of adding another room to the house just a small room. What would be a estimate to do something like that. I know she would like a small room where she can get her work done and listen to music and relax.

I have a relative that turned a portable shed like that into the ultimate man cave. His was a little bigger, but he made it two stories, and on the bottom floor he had a small gym, but it had all the essentials, like a squat rack, bench, dumbells. On the top floor, he ordered stadium seats from the old cowboys stadium, and had like 3 rows of seats with an isle down the middle, and a massive projector screen. Also had surround sound and a small bar. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen, just because he built it all himself.

Brick or wood home? Hip roof or gable ? Central air or window units? All three would factor in on cost.

I would google "man cave sheds" if I were you. She gets her room back, you get your space, and you make it so it's a cool gathering spot when you have parties and such. It will be cheaper than an actual addition to your home.

Alternatively, she gets the she shed.

(I don't know which term is worse, man cave or she shed.)

Wouldn't it be easier to ask for suggestions about reliable remodel contractors in your area and call a few of them for estimates.

Minimum. 20K. If you do some work like painting hanging rock. Do you have room to convert attic or garage?

The floorplans of most homes are not easily able to accommodate adding another room. It just won't flow. Better to give her back the bedroom and build a man cave in the back yard.

I get the premise of a man cave, but do you have this sign up or something?

You guys can't share the room as a quiet space to get away from the kids?
