Just the fan? Buy that yourself. Only takes 10 minutes to swap out.

The fan isn't very hard to put in. I have a spare in my shed just in case mine craps out. The actual fan may be a little tough getting off the motor. Do yourself a favor and spray with some penetrating fluid before attempting to remove the fan

Your fab is probably $159. Capacitor $20. With labor your looking at close to $500

Labor and the diagnostic fee is what eats it up. I don't know how to do that stuff, although it looks simple, with my luck I'd hook it up backwards and burn up the compressor or something stupid like that.

The service tech will come with a general fan. It probably won't match up exactly right but he'll know how to wire it so its correct and spinning in the correct direction. They reuse the fan (fins). That can be the most difficult part because the fan has been sitting on that shaft for years in the elements.

Dis you try to hit the fan blades with a long wooden stick? Take off the top grill and see if you can manually start it with a stick when its trying to kick on. If it starts spinning and operates normally till its time to spin again, I think it might be just the capacitor that needs replacing.

Had two capacitors changed that were out range just last week. Fricked me to the tune of $97 each.

I replaced the capacitor, fan motor and blade myself about a month ago. Parts were $150. It took about an hour.

This is the OT. When shite like this happens you just buy a whole new unit.
