a shop will charge anywhere from 100-150 an hour. A Sleeve could take a very long time so it'll be very pricey. If you want it done correctly, of course.

Plenty of people in "respectable" careers have full sleeve tattoos.
Which they have to hide in most cases. The majority of people that could be potential customers, or business associates will look at the tattoos, and think if this person thought it was a good idea to do that to their body I certainly don't want them making decision about my business, or personal affairs, and they would be correct.

I don't think anyone with tattoos really cares what you think about them. And many of them don't actually have to hide them. Maybe in Louisiana they do, but not in a lot of places.
I agree, it's not the best decision, career wise, but more people have LOTS of tattoos than you would realize.
Personally, I wouldn't hire man that chooses to wear high heeled cowboy boots (like so many on TD do) that's clearly never ridden a horse. It's an affection that could be viewed as trashy by some, just like tattoos.
No tattoos or cowboy boots here, BTW.

I believe this line of thinking is very archaic unless those people are over 60. Now it is very common for those 45 and under to have a tattoo so they don't look down to others with tattoos as much.

Seems like a lot of college football players have one or two arms done these days. I wonder how they afford it?
If they're already getting a full ride for sports, that $5500 per year Pell Grant is just money in their pockets. Pays for a lot of tats.

exactly. I deal with many successful small business owners and a lot of them have tattoos. And I've never once considered not doing business with them because of it. Older folks just can't let go of their hate of tattoos. It's cute

I work in a very professional position and have a sleeve tat but have always worn long sleeves to work. I've had my sleeves rolled up before at meetings with our worldwide head of OG&C and don't think he gives a shite unless I don't get my job done.

Your dignity. Tats are trashy..

People from Louisiana sure do believe a lot of things are trashy considering they live in a state that most would consider to be very trashy.

My advice is don't get one, tattoos are trashy.

My right arm has 4 tattoos that just about make a full sleeve. At $100/hr., I've got around $1,500 into it, not counting tips (another $600-700 in tips).

Why not spend a fraction of the cost on a nice painting with the same design as the one you want to put on your arm? The colors will be sharper and you can get a different painting in a few months if you want. In a few years, your tattoo will not look the same but you're stuck with it.

Friend of mine has a nice full sleeve. Very intricate, good coloring. All in was about $5-6k. Looks good on her. She owns her own company though.

I have two sleeves and would wager I make more per year than most posting in this thread.
