There is nothing on TV worth what cable TV charges. I've been on Sling and I'm now on PS Vue.

Tried the free 5 days of vue last week and really liked it. Might give the Hulu and YouTube streaming services a free try before I pick from the 3. Didn't mind paying for cable, but when uverse said they lowered my price and charged me more 2 months in a row I told them to come get their shite.

Cox 150MB Down internet.....$80/month
DirecTV Now Go Big Package (at intro rate grandfathered)...$35/month

that's $115/month....with no contract, no bundle that will increase, and no stupid "retention manager" holding shite over your head.
Cox 150Mbps internet is $100 here. How much will the non-grandfathered DirectvNow rate be?

Not sure...I think the current 40/45 plan includes all the sports stuff.

Honestly when DirecTV Now came out and offered there biggest package at the lowest price and you would be grandfathered into that rate, I knew that was going to be a good option in the long run so I ran with it....it just so happened that I was already on SlingTV and could cancel whenever with no strings attached.

For those who cut the cord, how do you watch the LSU games that air on ESPN or SEC Network? Living in Denver, we rarely get local channels playing SEC.

Colorado Springs here...I get all of that on PlayStation Vue. You enter your zip code when you sign up. Coincidentally I had to use a Denver zip for the first few days for some reason, but I'm now on my Colorado Springs zip. It's pretty damn easy and all of the games I've wanted to watch I have been able to watch on Vue.

Can you stream on two different TVs?

Why do you need the antenna? All of my local channels are also on Vue.

Part of what happens when most people cut the cord is they start watching fewer things in general. After a while you realize how much shite you watched just because, how much time was wasted on things you wouldn't go out of your way to watch if it wasn't just there on a path of least resistance.

This is so true. I only watch an hour of TV at most everyday (outside of football season). I've never had my own cable subscription, and Netflix and HBOGo give me as much as I will ever consume of quality TV. I don't ever wait for my show to come on, or lie on the couch doing nothing at night. TV encroaches on our lives far too much, and cutting cable really shows that

I just uncut after 5.5 years. The deal for DirecTV and AT&T internet was too good to pass up. $95/mth for 2 yrs. I'll cut again if I can't get a better deal at the end of it.

I haven't had cable in my house in 5 years and I don't miss it at all.

Paying for 2 cable boxes and internet was ridiculous.

So a Cox "retention" supervisor told me in May of 2016 that they were no longer authorized to negotiate due to cancelling and cord cutting.

Sounds like you took no for an answer.

I have not figured out the cord cutting yet. I pay around $90 for my cable package. I have not seen a combination of apps that gives me all I watch for that price or cheaper especially when you consider price, quality and ease of use. I am not switching to antennae to app etc...

When you "cut" it, you will find most of the "shite" you watch is just that, "shite".

also, like 90% of it is streamed an hour to a day later for much less.

There are still rights issues with live sports. My HD antenna is kind of spotty, so I switched to the local affiliate on Vue to watch the Saints game. It gave me a message saying that they didn't have the rights to stream it.

Getting a quality stream for the Saints games was the only reason I signed up for Vue this month. I'm going to cancel again for a few months until the Pelicans start back up.

I get directv heavily discounted (know someone in corporate) so I'm not cutting for a long time. With that said, I blame cord cutters for my my bill for internet has gone up every year, can't really blame people for cutting the cord though.

I'm confused. Are you telling me somehow Directv now and ps vue have almost 100 channels but somehow have no filler programming?
