Based on the time I spent in AP, it was likely theft of a pastalaya recipe.

They start cranking up the Stryper on the stereo and sometimes they get hyped and go nuts.

Is that by Bubba Hinshew Jr Road, Alphonse Boudreaux Lane, Bobby Thigpen Road, or Alsace Theriot St? I get those confused with Jimmy Hymel lane and Joey Thibodeaux Street. Ascension is so confusing.

License plate readers make even LSP (Highway Patrol) look like stolen car hounds. I miss the old days when you had to actually study a list of the most recent stolen when hunting.

Are you old enough to remember the late '60s/early '70s? As a little kid, I remember seeing LSP cruisers with red lightning bolt decals on their left front fender. I don't know if it was true, but I was told each decal represented a stolen car recovered. If I saw one with five, I'd yell to my father, "Look! An ace!" My dad, who was an Air Force veteran would say, "That's pretty good, but that's not a real ace."

Yea, they still do this. (5) Stolen recoveries with an apprehension in a year nets an ACE plate.

When I worked nights in NBR, some of the guys from Troop A used to creep around Plank (State highway #67) every once in a while to try and find one. Little did they know we were scouting everything listed stolen within the past month or so on our hot sheets.

Fwiw, 5 recoveries with apprehension can be achieved by mid March for those in the hunt in Baton Rouge.
