A DeKalb County police officer was critically injured, a homeowner injured and dog killed in a shooting Monday night.

Both an officer and a homeowner, whose names were not released, were shot and a dog was killed inside the home, Alexander said. But officers determined it was not the correct home.

Funny how people are in the wrong for shooting back, in the dark, when assholes barge in their house and kill their dog.

It takes 5 minutes to determine who fired. Especially when the officer with the thigh injury is able to talk. And not finding a gun in the hand of the homeowner.

If the homeowner survives I'm sure they'll find something to charge him with.

Police quickly realized officers had responded to the wrong house. Neighbors identified the injured homeowner as Chris McKinley, owner of a media company.

Well, yeah.

But wait, there's more.

quote:

The homeowner was shot in the leg and taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

One of the responding officers was also shot. The officer was shot in the hip and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The officer underwent surgery and is in serious, but stable condition.

Early investigation indicates that the injured officer was likely shot accidentally by one of the other officers on the scene.
