Right! And this bitch is saying FORTY percent of all cops beat their wives? GTFO!
That's not what she said. Here is what she is including as abuse:
quote:

Abusive police officers use professional tactics of power and control in their intimate relationships. Not all abuse is physical violence. Lying, isolation, interrogation, surveillance and weapons are also used.
You may have an issue with some of these, but she's clearly not insinuating that 40% beat their wives.

So let me get this straight. If any person here has lied to their wives at any time, they're considered spousal abusers?

Well that is ridiculous. If lying is considered domestic abuse than about 99% of all men have abused their wife at least once.

I linked an article similar to this the other week.

People who like to be cops tend to be controlling.

Just by the fact that it's only at 40%, I'm going to assume that it's not just lying in general. It's probably some type of lying is used to intentionally hurt and manipulate (e.g., some Borderline Personality Behaviors).

Who hasn't had a girlfriend who did this? I 've been a victim of abuse.

I'm going to guess its just some kind of liberal wingnut that just pulled a number out of the air and now makes money from other liberal wingnuts by selling books, providing advocacy training, and public speaking gigs qouting said "studies".

That's a huge assumption, imo.

The devil is in the details of how these supposed "experts" choose to pose these questions. I'm assuming she's adding in parameters that meet her definition to justify the ends, which is to present an outrageous, eye catching number in her findings.

I believe cops abusing is higher than the average. She should have done an accurate study and presented a reasonable finding, instead of looking like an idiot.
