It was a dude right? Right at the beginning.
Yes, that was. Right after he tries to kick a girl and then later in the video he's seen shoving two other girls.

Wondering why nobody is asking why the hell people were rushing the field for a soccer game anyway

Seriously though I hope that guy is fired and those people he tripped and shoved press charges for assault and battery. Could you imagine having this guy show up to your house for a welfare check, jury summons, or simple house alarm going off, what he would do to you and your DOGS

I agree. He has no business working as a policeman.

Just watched again. I just have to wonder what was going through his mind. The guy falling like a goofball is still funny....but looks like he may have been hurt which is fricked up.

At least he didn't shoot anyone

He was massively out numbered and doomed to fail if this is the argument you are using. One police man is suppose to keep the entire bleachers off the field?

So what's your thoughts of why he was hired? He isn't responsible for lack of planning on the facilities part. His job was to keep the players safe by keeping fans off the field. I will admit, he sucked at his job, but being outnumbered isn't his fault. Honestly, I blame the winning school for their student's actions, good or bad.

Ps. Good thing the mascot wasn't a dog!

This is one of those indefensible situations where I don't think anyone could make a case for him keeping his job. I'm sure he'll find a way though.

If he gets fired, so be it, but why is everyone so overly woked up about this? He acted badly and used poor judgement, no doubt, but there are worse things that he could have done.

He obviously saw it as his job to stop people from rushing the field. His attempt to stop them was lazy and potentially harmful, but not as potentially harmful as tackling someone, or drawing his weapon, or any number of more serious responses.

If I'm the one making the decision, and assuming there are no other infractions or history of work-related incidents to consider, he gets 10 days leave without pay, and mandatory retraining.

There's no need to lose all that money on training a new cop from scratch. This might be just the wake up call that an otherwise decent cop needs to get his act together.

No doubt the officer should be fired. But he will likely enjoy a week of paid leave

And call me a pos if you like, but everytime they show the cop tripping the student and the kid goes flying, I

The kid who shot the video has more class and intelligence than 100 cops.

And that's why he isn't going to be a cop when he grows up.

Cops are cops because they are the people willing to take a low-wage position. Just like the workers of walmart and burgerking aren't the competent people. Cops are no different. Low-wages jobs = low-wage workers.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read. I believe most take jobs as cops because they want to something outside of sitting in front of a computer screen all day. Whil most police officers are not paid handsomely many are paid very well and most federal positions are in the low 6 figures and require a degree. I believe you are just talking out of your arse.

I would say that behavior was anything but typical.

A frustrated man overcompensating for his shortcomings by abusing people who can't/won't fight back..... right out of central casting.

That would be an accurate assessment as movie portrayals are generally far from correct. I, of course, realize you were trying to use some sort of ill placed metaphor so I chose to use the literal meaning of your comment as that was actually accurate.
