Judge declares a mistrial because one of the jurors did not reveal that he was raped.

They will have a retrial.. but my bet is a plea deal is reached so they don't have to go through it all again.

What an incredible load of horseshite. They are as guilty as can be.

quote:

Attorneys have questioned the honesty of former jury foreman Todd Easter. During jury selection, Easter failed to disclose that when he was 16-years-old, he was in a consensual relationship with a 23-year-old man. When Easter's parents found out, the man was charged with statutory rape -- technically making Easter a victim.

What a fricking justice system we have. Because of the above information, we have to retrial a rape that's on videotape and these frickers will reach a plea deal. bullshite.

"It is alleged that Easter did not disclose his previous involvement in a sexual abuse case, despite other jurors being asked to offer that information to the court. However, his attorney previously stated he did not “misrepresent” himself."

Sounds like shitty voir dire to me.

But it also sounds like the defense held it in the hip pocket, bringing it up just hours after the jury verdict.

Voir dire is what is sometimes called "jury selection." If defending a rape charge, you'd want to know that one of the jurors had been involuntarily cornholed. Chances are that juror would be biased.

Sounds like a smart voir dire on the part of the defense. It worked.

Could be. If so, it was a pretty ballsy move.

Was just about to post the same. Nick right?

I doubt the perps will be getting any plea deals. The prosecutors know the cases are locks.

Yea, Nick. Crazy how close to a real life runaway jury situation that was.
