Batteries,paper,cardboard,plastic etc....
Why do companies put this stuff on their labels? Do you think we care? Or that we will say... oh wow, they are recycling. Let's buy their product

Yeah I know what ad you are talking about. The Enigizer recycled batteries, with 4% recycled metal. The casing is recycled, nothing else. It's a stupid ploy as aluminum can be recycled and rolled and sold as new even.

Because some people do care, so it sells their product. Those that don't care don't look for it, so they're not targeting you.

I work for a large paper company. You may not care, but the sustainability, marketing, and upper management departments at large corporations do I promise you.

If it was a significant amount I might. I won't even bother paying the mark up at 4%.

Bingo. It also allows companies to be apart of certain organizations that put a big emphasis on using recycled materials. This factor might help them gain that slight edge over their competitors bc they are doing their part to help the environment.
