My mom had one a while back. It was a piece of shite and ungodly expensive to repair. I'll never own one, and especially not a diesel.

I drive my wife's old Camry and upgrade hers every 5 or 6 yrs. It sucks but my Z71 gets like 16mpg and the fuel bill is like a fricken extra car note.

Pretty much my old requirements are that it have a manual transmission and get good fuel mileage for a long time

I would have said a Tesla S but I don't think they have manuals.

It's a hell of a stunt to convince myself to buy a car at all. There's no way I'll buy one with an automatic.

Today's automatic transmissions are more fuel efficient than manuals

haha, you're going to look like a bitch driving around in a car.

People will see you and think "where did he screw up in life to be driving around in a fricking economy car? Must be a druggie"

Don't care. Must have a manual.

You're really contradicting yourself here. Just buy a truck and be done with it.

I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but I kinda like the Hyundai Veloster. I know someone that has one and he says they're fun to drive and it gets around 30 mpg in the city.

Ah, the good ole boy reasoning for driving a truck that gets 17MPG. Lets make sure we look tough even though we commute 110 miles a day and take our truck off road 2 times a year.

I thought the fact that it is a 100k+ car would turn you off before the fact that is in an automatic but ok! You should get like an old small Nissan or Toyota truck, mid 90s, they are dirt cheap and can get 30mpg IIRC.

Mine gets 12 on a good day and is usually single digits

The one I'm driving gets 23 and I could live with that if it wasn't 20 years old and it was mine. Because I have to buy a vehicle or get another job (not happening), I figured I might as well get something that will pay for itself.

How disappointed would I be in this? I could definitely get on board with that price.
