Clay's initial response said something like 70% of the NFL's players are black and that it's a business that has created more black millionaires than any other in history...

So there's that.

But there are people who will equate it with slavery, and with making slaves fight in the Roman coliseum

The majority of those guys probably have enough "frick you" money to go ahead and retire to Tahiti for the rest of their lives if they really wanted to.

Interesting how it's racist that most of the coaches and owners are white but not racist at all that most of the players are black.

Kaepernick hasn't been signed because he's terrible not because he's on some blacklist.

that is the dumbest take I've ever seen. Being paid millions of dollars to play a game = slavery. Do people really feel this way?

You see what King fails to realize, is that Colin Kaepernick sucks.

His image is a part why he isn't signed. Teams worry about the backlash if they signed him.

In all likelihood his positives don't outweigh the negatives that he brings to the table. I guess he could make sense as a starter for a team that sucks (the Jets), but the flack you get for signing him isn't worth it if he's going to just ride the bench.

I don’t know how to put this, but to some people the NFL is basically modern-day slavery,” Baldwin said. “Don’t get me wrong, we get paid a lot of money. There’s a sense of ‘shut up and play,’ that this is entertainment for other people. Then, when we go out in public we’re like zoo animals. We’re not human beings. I can’t go to the grocery store and just buy groceries like a normal person. It becomes an issue, a burden and so. . . I haven’t checked my mail in a while.” - Doug Baldwin

Oh boo hoo, i get paid millions of dollars and am so famous people come up to me in public, and I get mean tweets from people that don't like me!

Hey a-hole, you wanted to be a professional athlete, you knew what comes with being a professional football player. I don't think any african tribemen in the 1800s asked to be sold to white men by competing african tribes, then chained together on a boat for months, if you survived the boat ride forced to do hard labor for the rest of your life. You should remember those facts when your instagraming your rough football slave life.

This modern slavery thing is really taking a toll on mr baldwin,

Yep. Who wants to deal with that circus while getting marginal production in return? It's not really worth it.

Looks like the Clay guy is going to be $50k lighter, pretty sure this classifies as more than 25% black.
