Security officials are also saying that they do not currently suspect that there was a terrorist motive. Photo: DPA. DPA have information from security sources that the man was psychologically disturbed. So far the motive of the man is unclear, as is anything to do with his identity. While police have said that the hostages were released uninjured, Bild reported that around 25 had been impaired by tear gas.

The German system of gun control is among the most stringent in Europe. It restricts the acquisition, possession, and carrying of firearms to those with a creditable need for a weapon. It bans fully automatic weapons and severely restricts the acquisition of other types of weapons. Compulsory liability insurance is required for anyone who is licensed to carry firearms. A new Weapons Act became effective in 2003 after a school shooting in the city of Erfurt in which a student killed sixteen persons. I more meant that it was somehow the American GOPs fault, regardless of who the shooter actually is.
