Get the Chicka-chicka boom boom enchiladas and a new mexican martini.

They dont shy from spice. When they do the hatch green chili fest, every dish is great.

Also the creamy jalapeño dip is awesome.

Deluxe tomatillo chicken enchiladas are my favorite thing on the menu.

My favorite off menu item at Chuy's is the Chuy Gooey. Not sure they'll know about it in Lafayette but worth asking.

Man I had some great food and drinks there one night. Maybe I was lucky but it was a home run. Plus I loved that neighborhood in Austin.

Maybe I'm just spoiled with so many options in Dallas. The food is good, nothing memorable IMO but the jalapeno ranch is worth going for no doubt.

Whatever... I only really liked the one in Barton Springs, but I'm still glad there's on in Lafayette. It beats the shite out of Chili's.

So much better than the fake authetic, copycat, same old menu, Mexican located in every closed Pizza Hut or Strip mall.

Spot on. The hatch sauce is good as well. As far as all the raves about the jalapeno ranch, well let's just say it tastes like a ranch dip with a hint of jalapeno, don't get the big deal over it. It would be a much better dip if they based it on cream cheese and tomatillos rather than ranch dip. I didn't even have to take a second taste of it, just stuck with the salsa, which is also very good.

It's going to take something special to pry me away from Mayas on the Thruway and La Pagua.

Yeah Barton Springs is the one I went to a few years back. That's the place. I think it's the only meal I ate in a week in Austin that wasn't at what looked like somebody's house or a food truck. Austin is a great foodie town.

average Tex mex fare

That may be true, but I'd love to see something like that here in the Pittsburgh metro. A place like Chuys that might be average on the gulf coast would be a wildly popular restaurant in the mid west.

Casual dining here is nothing but bland sandwiches, hoagies, and chicken wings.

Burgatory in Pittsburgh is really good. Not Tex Mex, but is casual dining.

You should try Patio TV dinners, you wouldn't believe it but it's cheaper than both of those shite holes you mentioned
