Catholic weddings are the worst.

Well I'm pretty sure it's not reasonable for the priest to ask for anything....unless maybe you aren't a parishioner maybe.

Now granted that, my wife and I donated 2 bills to the church for doing our wedding....church parish that we were members of and still attend today FWIW.

You mean a tip, or the cost of the full use of Church?

Holy shite, that's more than my total wedding. All of them actually, combined.

I dread them. Who needs an hour long ceremony?

Were you members of that parish? If so that is insanity IMO.

$500 for the church, and I think we did $100 for the priest.

I got married in New Orleans in 2009 and it cost $2000 to use the church.

We were the church's 3rd wedding that weekend.

I'd say $150-$300 for priest depending upon his travel distance needed. I mean shite, you can't get a plumber to your house for $100

Catholic Lite (Episcopal), I think the fee for the Cathedral was $500 for a member in good standing, we made a donation to our priest's discretionary fund for another $500 (this was on our behalf, it was not required), the choir and organist was around $2500.
