Yawn Tree Farm

News Article

Went there on Friday. They don't have as many trees as in years past if you want to cut down your own. I got a 9.5 foot tree for $90.

You go out in the field, find a tree you like and tear off the bottom tag. Then you walk or take the redneck kiddy train back to the office and pay for it. They give you a sold ticket and a saw, walk back cut it down and either have some redneck come in a ATV and haul it back or you drag it back on a supplied cart. Then you drive to wait in line while they load it in your truck. They also sold garland and wreathes.

Windy Hills Farms north of town in Ethel.

Frasier Firs can't be planted because they come from North Carolina. I don't think they'll grow in Louisiana.

They had acres of local Leyland cypress trees.

Just take 61 north to Woodville.
Somewhere along the way you'll see a nice on along the highway.

Chop it down. Take it home.

I always did this at night. No problems.

Do you remember how much they charge for a wreath at Yawn Tree? Preferably a Frasier Fir over a Cypress.

They closed down 4 yrs ago. We went to Christmas memory tree farm in McComb this year and got a 8.5ft tree for $45. They are by far the cheapest and nice selection, not as much the old christmas forest use to have but not bad. Also there is tiger branch in covington that has a fair amount but the are either big trees or small trees this year.

No I didn't ask and have never bought garland or wreathes from them.
