My grandfather (Ellis Island) was very olive in NYC but retired to Hollywood FL and got way darker than this in his retirement years.
If you know the Sicilian nose and lips, you know, but when he was darker in FL people often thought he was black.
My sibling could get dark as a walnut sitting in the sun (think dark Indian - dot not feather) while I could go in the sun for 5 min and looked liked a steamed lobster.
My sibling could have taken their grandfathers immigration papers and filed for reparations maybe!
