I currently drive a Tahoe (LT) and the only issue I have with is the interior. The overall fit and finish seem to be a down grade from what GMC offers. My only experience with the Yukon is from test drives, so it's somewhat unfair to compare a new vehicle to one that's been driven around for 3 years.

I've heard people say GMC is more polished than chevy, but I would like to know if that's true if compared to the LTZ version of the Tahoe?

I'm leaning toward the Tahoe, but I don't want to regret my decision 3 yrs down the line.

TIA

They say the GMC is nicer, but my business partner just got the new LTZ and i can't imagine what the gmc would have that would be nicer.

Sticker on the new SLTs are around 62K. A bit ridiculous.

In regards to your question, there is not much different on the interiors b/w the Chevy and GMC in the old models. The LTZ gives you a little more 'wood grain" sort of like the Denali. Also upgrades you to the perforated seats for cooling as well as heating.

I also would like to know if there is any difference in handling and drive quality between the two. Hopefully someone can compare different models within the same generation to keep it apples to apples.

They are literally the same thing. Apparently GMC's marketing division hit a homerun with "Professional Grade."

I don't know how this is possible. They are literally built on the same assembly line.

I don't know what that means.

But I can clear up some confusion: there are 3 different levels to SLT Yukon: 1, 2 and 3. The SLT 1 and 2 are comparable to the Tahoe LT. The SLT 3 has most of the same options that the LTZ Tahoe has. Unavailable on the Yukon SLT but avaialble for the LTZ Tahoe are retractable running boards and cupholders similar to the Denali. The wood is different between the models - not sure which is supposed to be nicer, it's personal preference.

The best thing about the Yukon is being able to shout out "Professional Grade!" when driving through water puddles.

the GMC seems a little tighter handling wise, but that's all I noticed. I haven't driven the 15 Tahoe, but I would imagine it's not far off from the GMC.

I'll do it. There is no difference between the Chevy and GMC as long as they have the same options. It has been this way for over 20 years.

Anyone that says different is wrong. I've owned several Suburbans and Denalis, so I have experience with both brands.

Some might have different options from the other, but this pretty much sums it up.

Now as far as resale, Chevys are fleet vehicles where gmc's are usually not.

There is no difference....but it's highly likely that one was not equipped exactly the same as the other. Those trucks seem to have near endless configuration combinations.

Just bought the wife a new Tahoe last week. Love the power it has, the engine seems to not even be having to work. As for ride it's as smooth as butter. You have to keep an eye on the speedometer because you'll get going a lot faster than you think and never feel it. I also love the fact it's built like a tank. That gives me peace of mind when she and the kids are out and about.

Does anyone else prefer the '14 over the 15' just based on looks?
