Yeah, they just came out and took credit for the attack.

Yes. It's an outage from Alabama up thru North Carolina. A voip host dropped out. Techs and engineers are on it as we speak. Happened about 8:21 central time. I'm a supervisor at a charter call center. 3200 calls in the que in my center alone.

Just change your DNS servers to Google's. Problem solved.

In 2016, it kinda surprises me that people still take the time to call over an outage. If you reset your router and nothing happens, it's probably beyond the call center's ability to help.

It's annoying that you don't get reimbursed for downtimes, but yelling at a minimum wage customer service rep isn't going to accomplish anything but getting hung up on.

Comcast in Houston reimburses for outages. I was down for 4 hours last month and got a $5 credit.

That surprises me. I hated comcast customer service with a passion when I had them.

If an outage last more than 4 hours and you stay on the line after the call back to let you know it's cleared is given to you, then we will credit you for a day of service.

And to the other poster, it's not my job to answer phones, I just make sure my team is answering phones and providing the best customer service. Plus....it's my lunch break.
